Having recently got married, my new husband is now putting his house on the market and we shall live in my house. There is no rental market where the house is and therefore no other option although it's a pity to be selling in this climate. Should there be a profit, is it exempt from CGT as it was his principal private residence until a few months ago ? Or is it taken to be a second residence since the date of marriage ?

The last 12 months of ownership count as PPR even though not living in it. Thttp://www.conlonosullivan.ie/tax-adviser.phpheerfore all exempt.

Last 12 months counts as principal private residence. Therefore all exempt
