I'm considering cancelling my existing home insurance at the 6m point and moving to Outsurance, its 36% cheaper plus more importantly my home is timber frame without external block which Outsurance accepts without issue whereas the broker has it 'approved' through their policy but I can't get it 100% clearly in writing.

Outsurance appears to be an insurer rather than a broker, I wonder are they top-mid-low tier in terms of quality ?

I had assumed that they were a broker, but you are correct.

A lot of Askaboutmoney users reported bad experiences

The thread @Brendan Burgess links to above seems to be exclusively about motor insurance and I can't see if a poster asks them about home policies. If you're willing, maybe give them a shout.

My experience with Outsirance, they gave me a good quote over the phone but needed a certificate for a ring, provided this to the email provided but never heard back, I then rang and was told I shouldn't have been given that email as it was the direct email to that person, given another email and sent the certificate again, never heard anything back again, so I gave up!

One of the biggest insurers in Australia.

Only issue is that everything is done via a human and you are in some way depending on how good that human is.

Zurich and AIG gave me excellent quotes for two different properties and all done online and I'm able to see all terms and conditions
