okay, i have given someone a check for 350 dollars and i no longer want to pay this person the money. is there any way i can cancel or do anything so that this person will not get the money? please help ! thanks .

350 dollars? Is it drawn on an American bank? This is an irish forum so I don't think many people wil be able to help you.

I am presuming you are American also by the way you spelt cheque!

I presume that the same applies in most jurisdictions' banking systems - contact your bank to cancel payment of the cheque.

I think that the implecations in the US are more serious.
When I had a business there I was told that a check is a legal contract and it is against the law to cancel it.
