Can you seek redundancy?

My father has just been informed that the company he works for are moving premises..doubling his commute, including addition of a Toll.


Would he have any grounds to seek redundancy from his employer?

My sister done it about 8 years ago,but it depends on his contract....he could seek a pay hike and reduced working hours to make up for his commuting and extra cost,but there's too many factors to say if he would be entitled to get a redundancy or not.Good time to look for one as it would help to cut overheads in the downturn..

Yes it looks like he may have grounds for redundancy, the ones you mention but he is also entitled to try out the new situation for 1 month and if he finds it's too much he can then go for redundancy
