Can you get a one year prescription for your Cholesterol Lowering tablets.

As I only see him once a year or maybe longer I will put your suggestion to him.......next time.
Well if it was my good self I would go back just before the 6 months is up for a consultation if you leave it until you have to go to them with a health Issue in lots of cases they will focus on present Issue rather than general health,
Quite possible you might finish up getting an over the Phone consultation rather than a practice visit
My Doctor along with other Doctors in the practice appear only deal/entertain the symptom you booked the appointment for,

The above is how lots of practices work today,

Ditto @ClubMan . I can leave voice-mails for prescription renewals, and renewal emails between GP and pharmacist and emailed call-offs from me to pharmacist are operating well since COVID.

Decades ago I needed repeat prescriptions at 6 months. Secretary gave me it without meeting the doctor. Charged full consultation fee. Doctors don’t want to miss out on the income was my conclusion, I was just happy I didn’t have to waste time.

My GP practice charges €25 for prescription renewal when a consultation isn't needed. They charge €70 for a consultation.
