Hi all,
In the last 3 years i have earned about €2000 over my tax cut off point will do the same this year.
My basic is under that of my cut-off point but with that old working class nugget OVERTIME it goes above it.
I Have a company pension(all be it a small one) but wondered if should put exrta amount THAT WHICH IS ABOVE MY CUT-OFF POINT into AVC`S to avoid paying high tax on it.
Also can this be back dated for the last 3 years,of which i paid the high tax on about €2000 each year.
HATE:mad: PAYING THE TAXMAN.
Are AVC`s a standard thing or do u shop around.Sorry for the naviety!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You can backdate to the immediately previous tax year:

October 31 - what does it mean for PAYE worker?

You can also carry forward payments over the tax/PRSI relief limits and claim tax/PRSI relief in future years as far as I know. But that's not really relevant here I don't think.

AVCs like all pensions vary in terms of charges, funds available etc. What are the details of your pension scheme (e.g. charges etc.)?
