Hi my father passed away a few months ago. My sister and I along with his solicitor were named executors. She has not been very helpful and we havent been happy with our dealings with her and im wondering is it possible to ask her to give up her role as executor and employ another solicitor to complete the task. So far she has drawn up list of assets and has done some work on establishing boundries. We feel we would like a solicitor involved as the estate inculdes a farm and is quite complicated.

Any help gratefully appreciated as we are a bit our of our depth.

Yes, you can ask. The solicitor has been appointed executor so has the right to prove the will along with your sister but I suspect most solicitors would go along with family wishes. You'd have to pay her for work done to date.
