Taxpayers are entitled to tax relief up to a maximum of a certain % of their relevant earnings.
Can income from a pension be included in relevant earnings?

simple answer no, net relevant earnings are earnings from a trade or profession

It also takes in income arising in respect of remuneration from a non pensionable office or employment - but I suppose that doesn't cover previous employment?

Yeah sorry i missed non pensionable employment that also qualifies as NRE

if the pension was received from a pensionable employment that didnt qualify as NRE say if you had two pensions then the future pension income would not qualify
