Can I use back boiler in 1 &1/2 storey house

I am thinking of installing a stove in my kitchen and would love to have a back boiler but my plumber told me at the time of building I could never have a back boiler system, this was 5 yrs ago. I am wondering are there any advances in technology that would now allow me to have one. He said it was because there is no gravity from the tank/cylinder to the kitchen.

...I hope you fired that plumber. All he had to do was put in what was missing - why could he not do that, if you were only at building stage ???
