Can I transfer mortgage to another property?

I'm sure the answer to this is going to be a definite "no" but I'll ask it anyway. I have a mortgage on a property I bought 10 years ago in an area I hate. I am currently unemployed. Is there anyway of transferring the mortgage to a smaller property worth the same value but in a more suitable area? Or do I have to sell, become employed again and reapply for a new mortgage?
 
Same issue here, but due to age I cannot get a long term loan and would like to sell 2 properties and transfer mortgages to new property. Would like a solution
