Another question, I am about to start a new job shortly and will have 6 months probationary period. Will I be qualify for a mortgage during this time or will I have to wait for the six months to be up?

Re: New Job

Lenders generally require that borrowers have completed their probationary period but no harm in asking around anyway.

If you're employer is willing to give you a letter saying that you are 'full time' you'll be ok. But you would want to be sure that you will in fact be made permanent at the end of your probabtion I guess. I know that my employer wrote a letter for one of my colleagues saying that he was full time before his probabtion was completed.

My partner got a letter from his boss explaining that he was to be kept on and basically saying how great he is and the career oppertunities available to him in this job. He was only in the job 3 months at the time and although the bank(first active) couldnt promise anything we did eventually get a loan offer...worth a try!
