Hi,
Next year I intend moving to Northern Ireland to live. My partner is from Northern Ireland. We have planned on meeting a financial advisor next week and we sent off some details to him. He came back via email with the following;
To save time on this one, *daithi28* will not be eligible to apply for a mortgage in N Ireland via a UK lender as he is not a UK citizen.
Surely this cannot be correct? I know of an no. of people from the ROI who have moved north. Will an ROI bank such as BOI give a mortgage to us to buy in the North? I wouldn't have thought so?
Does anybody know what the norm is for this type of thing? The property will be in the North. My partner works in the North. I will continue to work in the South and commute.
Thanks
