Can I claim paye married tax credit if not living together?

My wife and I are living separately since May but still legally married. We don't have any separation agreement signed yet.
Can I still claim the PAYE married tax credit for 2018? What happens in 2019?

The PAYE tax credit is separate from marital status. It relates only to the spouse who is in employment subject to PAYE and is granted regardless of marital status.

There a few combinations for year of separation and afterwards.

Thanks for your reply. Read the link but still not clear. I haven't informed Revenue yet but want to do so before the end of the year. My ex is self employed and not PAYE where I am. What effect does this have on the married tax credit I'm claiming?
