Just found out that EA told vendors that X had an apointment to view the house they're selling. So happens vendor is a relative...something I didn't know. Only half interested in house...more interested in another being build not far away. So things could be awkward with relative.
My question is this - was the EA entitled to give this info to the vendor?
Would really appreciate feedback as feel really bad about all this.

Well the EA has to have a name of a viewer, don't they? So what is wrong with telling the vendors? If the viewer is serious, then the name comes out anyway and if they are not serious, why are they viewing the house?

They are entitled unless the viewer asked to be kept anonymous. Many vendors won't ask, but some would be wary of who buys because they feel that they have an obligation to their neighbours to sell to 'decent folk', and the flip side is they will also want to monitor nosey neighbours taking a peek at their house. If you are serious about buying it should make no odds, if you are a time waster then tough!
