Buying Shares

Hi

No idea here so thus the possible stupid questions.

Can I walk into a bank and purchase €5000 worth of shares of a particular company that is listed on the Irish Stock Market?

If not, which stockbroker would be best for me. I may buy more from time to time but it would be 2 or 3 hundred at a go and probably for only a year or two. It wouldn't be a long term investment. I was looking at sharewatch at the €50 per trade but this would be a tad expensive if I'm only putting in 2 or 3 hundred in the future!!

Well your original post cannot be answered yes or no. You really need to try to understand this stuff a bit otherwise all that you can do is put your blind trust in some intermediary (e.g. stockbroker).
