Buying Carpets, what do I look for

Hi,
I need to buy carpets for our new build for 3 bedrooms and am unsure what to look for. having spoken to a few carpet shop people, I think I should be getting 80-20 wool mix, does that sound right?Any other tips or advice would be very welcome.

Check the carpet shops' offcuts for better value, i.e. they will have unused end-of-roll pieces that will not fit every room so will be sold at cheaper prices. You may find something that suits.
