Hi has anone any opinions and advice on buying supplies in NI?

We have insullation, plastering, underfloor heating still left to do on or Wexford selfbuild and we think buying up North with the exchange rate and lower VAT will save a bundle.

Can anyone reccomend a good supplier?

We're looking for Kingspan, plasterboard, underfloor heating system with LPG boiler and hopefully a MVHR system if the prices are right.

Mackin Building Suppliers in Newry. Really nice people to deal with. I bought a stove 3 weeks ago, my brother got his roof insulation there and I made a saving of 600 E, brother made savings of over 200 E. Well worth a trip.

I did a job in Dun Laoire in july .The main builder was from Armagh they used Newry Building Supplies who did a next day free delivery to dublin as for as far south as Wexford well its worth a phone call ..........11811......

Dalys in Eglish Co Tyrone - No big fancy show rooms = no big overheads = good sensible prices!

What are Helldane Fisher (or similar) like? (Any location or contact details for them?)

Where would be a good place to ring for panel goods?, i.e 8x4 sheets of MDF, chipboard etc.. what I'd actually be looking for would be laminated pine panels, 8x4s, in large quantities (30 to 50), anywhere that sells panel goods should have them.. (for furniture, kitchens etc)

I get an alright price down south but with the exchange rate I may do quite a bit better up North.. and even a saving of a few Euros per panel would add up nicely.

Cheers
Joe
