Does anyone have any particular opinions on the different business networking groups out there. I'm in the BNI and find it okay, will definitely pay for itself and then some but would be interested to know how it would compare to other networking groups, chamber of commerce etc....

As somebody who has recently retired after many years experience in this field my unbiased view is that BNI is only as good as the chapter you join. Some are top notch others are a waste of time & money. Likewise Plato which is primarily a Business Development Programme can be useful for Networking. They run occasional Networking events for their members only & they are different in so far as representatives of major corporates & multinationals also attend. But like BNI some Plato Regions are excellent & others not so good. The CEB's also organise Networking Events in most regions & you merely pay a small attendance fee so worth a try.
