Hi

This is a stupid query but its bugging me, my light bulbs dont seem to last long, I have never counted how long they have lasted but i will now, my ensuite bulb blew on friday then this morning the bulb in the light over the mirror in the ensuite went and then the bulb in the hall light went, is it just a coincidence? usually when one goes another goes with it or is there a problem?

possibly a coincidence if brought and replaced at the same time the bulbs blow around the same time. Interestingly enough since i changed to good quality energy saving bulbs, they never blow, about 3 years now since i changed a bulb, yippee

As johnjoda says "good quality" is the key. Cheap own brand bulbs can be the problem. IMO.
Go to your local hardware and get some quality ones.
If they still keep blowing then you may be getting power surges.. Consult a professional then.

This is something that is happening us all the time and like you have started wondering if it something to do with the power, our ESB bill is particularly big too. I can't imagine it's the bulbs (we've always bought solas), or a bad batch so to speak as it's ongoing since we moved into this house 2 years ago. I thought we were the only ones. Think it's time to consult someone too. Will be interested to see how you get on aswell.
