Brother Sister loan and Gift Tax?

My brother who lives abroad has agreed to give me (sister) a loan of 300k over ten years to buy a larger house (growing family); however It appears this loan may be viewed as a gift and I may have to pay gift tax any advice on how to avoid this.

There are a few threads on this topic already, you might want to have a look at them but in essence, if your brother gives you a loan and you repay it, there is no 'gift' involved and so no tax implications.
