Can you set stockbrokers fees ( 54euro p.a. for holding shares in their nominee account) against tax/dividends or against sale of shares?

As relief against tax on the divs = NO.

As relief against a capital gain = MAYBE, I'm not sure.

Revenue’s Guide to Capital Gains Tax states that the “the cost of acquisition of the asset and any incidental cost of acquisition such as agent’s commission” would be regarded as an allowable deduction in calculating any gain or loss on the disposal of a chargeable asset.
