broken radiator valve

To drain a system you could also use a washing machine connector with a cutter in it, drain the system, then fit a drain off with compression fittings, Gary

Drained the system yesterday.....fitted the TRV to the 1st floor radiator, but now I find the all the top floor radiators are not warm. I also bled the radiators.

How do I solve this.

The dreaded air lock.

Turn off all rads that are ok and it should free out the air by concentrating the area that the pump pumps too.

Cheers for that DavyJones, got it to work the morning.

Now however the hot water is not running. Will I turn off all the rads to get this working.

There is a valve on the return of the cylinder, did you close it?

Check that first.
If your heating has controlled zones EG upstairs/downstairs, turn off both zones so hot water only is on.

If you don't have that set up, turn off all rads. Feel the flow and return at cylinder to determine if air lock is free (it will get hot)
