Hi,

Presently, I am converting a room to an office in the house. I want to fitout one wall with bookcases as I have a lot of books and folders to shelve. Could anybody recommend a good place to find bookcases? The standard bookcases in Woodies & Atlantic are too small for my purpose. I live in the Dublin area.

Thanks

Re: Anybody contact for Bookcases ?

Hi Siucra05

Try www.andythetoymaker.com and see the woodwork section. We have recently got him to give us a quote for shelving an entire wall. He may be a good solution for bespoke shelving solutions, as well as other things.

Try furniture.ie for a list of custom cabinet makers in your area....

J2K,

andythetoymaker website shelving is very nice. Do you know if it is very expensive to get him to make shelving. I would really love some bookshelves like the ones on his website.

Thanks

Irish Trading Company or IHG. Google both if required.

We bought bookcases off of the Irish trading company last November (Nov 2006). We still don't have them as of today (31 July 2007), so steer well clear! New estimated time is another 3 months. We can't seem to ever contact anyone in charge either,. It's a complete nightmare.

We were assured at time of purchase that the items were in stock.

Clownie,
We got a quote from him, I honestly can't remember how much it was for. At the time I remember thinking it was quite expensive, but I had no comparative reference point and bespoke shelving like that will not be cheap.

He was very easy to deal with however. I suggest give him a call or send him an email, describe what you are looking for and I'm sure he could give you an order of magnitude cost.
