Re: Booing of civil servants at hotel

There’s absolutely no excuse for booing people like that or abusing them because they are a public servant or work in a bank. It’s disgraceful.

Re: Booing of civil servants at hotel

It'd be interesting to know how many of them are AAM members.......... ;)

Actually, I wondered that myself. Thankfully, if any of them were, they have the grace not to come on here and try to defend their behaviour.

Re: Booing of civil servants at hotel

Can I say firstly - i do not agree with these people being subjected to this abuse, but to be honest it is so to be expected, I could and would bet every penny I own that the people booing these guys will be sending bottles of whiskey and Christmas cards to their local TD's and if they met them [TD'S] on Christmas morning at mass bet they had a grand big handshake for these tossers! We need our civil servants [no I am not one or nobody belonged to me are either] and for the most part do an outstanding job and we need to get our big gobs into action, boot this lot and get ourselves a decent government ASAP.

The first part is easy but I don't see any chance of getting a decent government to replace them. At each election I find it very hard to vote for anyone as they are both corrupt and useless in the case of FF, useless and inept in the case of FG or useless, inept and informed by a bankrupt socialist dogma in the case of Labour (formerly Democratic Left, formerly the Workers Party).

I can pick people from each of the main parties that I respect and think are capable individuals but that’s not how it works. So, who do you think will be able to offer us a strong competent government? (and “anyone would be better than this lot” is not an answer)

People who have nothing to gain as they have made it in their own lives and have never "donated" to a political association.
