BOI Supersaver Account

Fairly certain the only way to withdraw online is indeed to a BOI Current Account.
I did this recently and it took 2-3 days.

Yes if this is the case they could make the wording a bit clearer. I was hoping I would be able to use my PTSB Current Account which I will be using to feed the max. 2,500 per month.

I use 365 online but I don't have a BOI Current Account. Anyone know if you can withdraw to a different bank's current account or must it be your own BOI Current Account?
Not sure if it helps your situation - but if u have a BOI demand account linked to your 365 profile you might be able to withdraw to that BOI a/c and from there do a credit transfer to your PTSB a/c. Under the Supersaver a/c click on 'withdraw funds' and see what options it gives u.

Yes that would be good if possible - I have an old BOI demand account. I've only opened the Supersaver Account earlier so it be probably another 2 weeks or so before I can check the options. I'll report back - after the 12 month's this would be very handy to keep balance below 30,000 for example and save me a visit to a branch.

If you have a demand saver for example, you can transfer the money to that account.
you don't need another BOI account (direct debit can be made from an SEPA current account) but withdrawing would then probably mean in person, in branch.

Most likely u will be ok so (unless BOI have tightened their procedures). I used to have as BOI curr a/c and a BOI demand a/c and I had a 365 online profile like u seem to have. I closed my BOI curr a/c but I still retained my 365 profile because of the demand a/c. I started a supersaver a/c and linked this to my 365 profile. I have done several withdrawals from this supersaver a/c to my demand a/c and then did a credit (sepa) transfer to a non BOI a/c. No visits to bank required.

As I understand it, BOI these days will not give new customers a 365 profile without a current a/c.

I recently opened an AER Credit Card with BOI and was (eventually!) able to set up 365 on-line and I don't have a BOI current a/c.

AER credit card granting 365 access is an exception as other posters have indicated previously.

What happens if you open a current account, get a 365 profile, open a SuperSaver and then close the current account but kept the SuperSaver open? Do you lose your 365 access?

Got an e-mail - application got rejected - re-apply and say No I don't use 365 online when I do and then when I re-applied I'm treated as a new Customer - yes you guessed it passport, driving licence, proof of address.

I set out my experience with this in a previous post:

Some years back I had a current account and two Goalsaver accounts with BOI. When I closed the current account I lost online access to the Goalsaver accounts. From that point onwards, I was reliant on annual statements. I opened a new Current Account at the end of 2001 when UB were in the process of withdrawing and got BOI to link the Goalsaver Accounts to the new online profile.

While my experience related to GoalSaver rather than SuperSaver logically they should be treated the same way ( though I’d be the first to admit that when dealing with Irish retail banking systems logic doesn’t always abound )

So Thankfully BOI accepted my 2nd application and my rather rushed photo's off passport etc. I got the text message last night with IBAN and BIC and I went online and linked my new SuperSaver Account with my 365 profile.
This morning I got an e-mail to say it was successful and I checked and my SuperSaver Account is now showing underneath my very old Saving Account. It does not look like for now that I will be able to do a future withdrawal but my balance is zero in fairness. Maybe an option will appear when my first direct debit hits at the end off next week although I doubt it - I could be wrong. Just a reminder I don't have a BOI Current Account.

I would remain optimistic on the withdrawal option appearing once the a/c has funds in it. When the KBC accounts were transferred across to BOI the withdrawal option did not appear for a couple of weeks if I recall.

The fact that u can see both accounts under your profile is a very good sign. As has been alluded to in previous posts, the supersaver a/c will simply show your supersaver balance - you won't see individual transactions.

Its worth mentioning that when u do a withdrawal request, all that *seems* to happen is that a message in generated within your profile and sent to BOI (nothing fancy). Theoretically this is a message u could manually draft and send to BOI via the message section of the app anyway.

Spot on 1dave123 - withdrawal option showed up once my first month payment hit account. I also noticed a "Close the account" option. These will be very handy to have after the initial 12 months.

@theresa1 That's excellent news - glad u are sorted. Might be no harm to do a mock withdrawal at some stage just to see what happens. Cancel before actually doing the withdrawal, of course. In terms of where to send the withdrawal, your BOI demand a/c should appear as an option (it may indeed appear as the only option as u have no BOI current a/c)
