BOI & CRH shares

Hi,

I have a few thousand euros to spare and I was thinking of buying some BOI and CRH shares. I was planning to leave them for at least 5 years and I was hoping somebody might be able to offer me some advice on whether its a good idea or what else is available that might be better.
