I am in the process of replacing my fixed car kit cradle with a bluetooth device as I got fed up with changing the cradle every time I changed my phone. The car has the capability of displaying the phonebook on a screen and you can dial out from a dashboard keyboard.
However I was very surprised when the dealer told me that certain Nokia phones particularly the E series and N series (which unfortunately I have) have a different bluetooth protocol and while I can use the handsfree ,the phonebook information wont be transmitted to the car. I thought the whole purpose of bluetooth was to have a standard system. Has anyone come across this and is there any solution?
