I am considering changing roles to one that includes a company car.
There is a fair bit of work-related mileage that make the vehicle necessary for this role and the car would be modified so that it can be used for this - chevrons , flashing beacons etc.
I live near to the office (so will probably cycle) and do not really need the use of another car outside of work.
Could I legitimately keep this vehicle at the office and only use it for work purposes in order to avoid BIK?
Would taking it home the odd weekend etc nullify this practice?
Is it different if it were a van rather than a car.
I cannot find much about this online, other than how to work out the BIK amounts due, which are quite hefty.
