Hi,
We have recently sold house and made profit of about 150 k after fees.We are currently living with parents while we are waiting for right site to come along.
Would like to earn some interest as I imagine it will be 3-4 months(could be more) before we get something sorted.Would need to be able to have the money at about a months notice if we do find somewhere, anyone any ideas on the best place to place the money.
Thanks in advance.

For a lump sum of 150k - for a short term and with instant access your choices are:
Northern Rock 4.5% - online only (if you think it is OK after last year's problems)
First Active 4.33%
NIB 4.5%
RaboDirect - 4.3%
Ulster Bank E-Savings 4.07% - Internet Only
Anglo Irish Bank 4%

HI Horatio
Irish Nationwide have an account called the Flexisaver 21 day Issue 2. For 150k you get 5% up to end of April, then it drops to 4.75%. It's a 21 day notice account but if you need instant access you can withdraw it and they will deduct 21 days of interest from the account. It's not on the website but if you drop into a branch they have the forms there if it is still available.

See the Financial Best Buys forum for lists of the highest rate demand and term lump sum and regular saver deposit accounts. If it hasn't been already it should be updated pretty soon with all recent rate/product changes.
