best savings account for a baby?

Where is it best to set up a savings account for a baby. E.g. for christening money, birthday money etc. Do charges apply to children's accounts?

Is it a small amount of money? If so, I suggest the below, thee are no charges and a good rate of return.

Why not try your local Credit union, they pay a dividend every year and you can take your money out whenever you want, and no need to worry about loosing it because of the bank guarantee scheme?
 
With the credit union you will get a zero return or close to zero return.

Don't waste your money in the CU. You will get a better return for your money elsewhere.
