I invested in a Business Expansion Scheme in 2000. I received very little correspondence over the years. I met with a representative of the company who told me my investment was gone but I have received nothing in writing. I'm worried that I'm being conned because I read an article which said that that particular BES had been successfull. The office of corporate enforcement says I'm "not recorded as a member of the nominee company".
I can't afford to hire a solicitor or risk going through the courts. Is there another option?
