BER Rating & Non-Habitable Attic Space

I am getting an attic conversion done on a BER A3 rated house. The attic will officially be used as non-habitable space / will not meet the criteria for habitable space but will be an occasional kids bedroom. If I have my house BER rated after the conversion, is it included in the BER rating calculations. Thank you in advance.

Depends on the insulation levels being put in place. Many conversions can compromise on insulation at the roof in order to maximise head height within the converted space. Get details from your builder on the insulation proposed specs and whether the match up with what's there already.
