Hi,
Sale agreed on house. Original BER cert was assessed by vendor. We got it re-assessed independently and the BER rating has dropped from C2 to D1.
We have got some quotes to address some of the energy related issues found in the survey and we are left with some unexpected costs on top of an already expensive house.
We absolutely want the house but feeling slightly annoyed with the BER issue. Without knowing too much about the specifics of each rating, I believe a D rating would have at least influenced our bidding in some way.
As a matter of principle (vendor assessed + dropped) is it a big deal? As a matter of cost, is it a big deal to get from a D rating to a C rating in future?
