becoming an agent for an overseas landlord

Hi - I included a question on this on the end of another thread but it was probably too far down the list to be spotted. Does anyone have any experience of being an agent for an overseas landlord. The person in question is a relative who's moving to Britain - the tenant is ready to move in and the landlord is tax compliant in terms of stamp duty etc. I've been on a revenue website but it seems like a complex procedure - I'd love to know if anyone has tried it themselves or if it's advised to go to a tax consultant.

if you trust the person and can beome a signatory on their cheque book account, they it is relatively straightforward. basically, you ndertake to lok after the taxes for them.
