Becoming a landlord Query

Not sure if this is the correct place but here goes...

So at the moment I'm in the process of renting a 2 bed apt. in Dublin. I'm just wondering are there any questions I'm not legally allowed to ask propespective tenants i.e. can I ask them to provide proof of employment? Can I ask to see their P60, just so I know they can actually afford the rent?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated as this is a first for me.

couldn't imagine any tenant letting you see their p60.

if they pay you a deposit & month in advance that's all you should need once you do a proper vetting of them re references etc.
