Bathroom mirror - paint coming off

I have bought a couple of mirrors for the bathroom over the last 3-4 years and the mirror paint at the bottom of the mirror seems to peel off, obviously due to the condensation as it drips to the bottom of the mirror.

Is there a particular type of mirror need to get? Or some way to prevent this from happening?

I presume you're talking about paint on the frame rather than the wall beneath the mirror? Metal framed, or frameless won't suffer paint flaking issues. If using wood, the better quality the wood, the better it will last.Or perhaps just simple a rub of vaseline along the bottom where the frame meets the glass will stop water penetrating there and soaking into the wood.

As an alternative, a heating pad attached to the back of the mirror and wired to a light or shower switch will keep the mirror condensation free.

Its the paint on the mirror itself.. well, on the back of it.
There is no frame, its just an oval glass mirror.
The peeling is happening at the bottom of it, obviously where the condensation drops end up.
The heating pad seems a bit extreme and would also involve breaking tiles etc.

Ah, the reflective coating. Better quality mirrors will have better coating over the silver nitrate to prevent moisture damage. Make sure there is an air gap behind the mirror so moisture isn't trapped at the edges and they dry out quickly. Adding a frame will also help, or you could seal around the edges with a film of epoxy.

Heating pads are great to keep mirrors condensation free. Should be no need to break tiles to install one, but depends on where the mirror is and where power could be drawn from.

You could try putting some clear nail varnish on that area of the mirror - should seal it up and it won't be visible... just top up every few months or as needed.
