Any ideas is it possible to get such a service - email out room plans and then ask the shope to send you back ideas and quotes?

If so where would I best go to find best shops?

I know this may seem a little broad but I have looked at the internet and it seems to ba a maze of factory outlet style sites - but very little design ideas... by that I mean layout within the bathroom, ensuite & WC

If there were even towns with very good shops I could visit them but it seems to me like I am looking in a black whole for this - I know little/nothing about dimensions ect but I am hoping if I have the room plan and where the outlets are a designer could help me...........

I realise advertising is not allowed so I wellcome pm's or suggestions

Any ideas???

Thanks J

Why don't you talk to an interior designer or architect who can offer you the most comprehensive advice.

And no, I am NOT touting for this business by implication :) - there are a lot of good designers out there offering competitive quotations.

They will be able to -

- carry out a survey of the room(s)
- assess the existing service connections
- advise on materials and colour selection,
- co-ordinate fittings, finishes and accents,
- co-ordinate site work and deliveries and
- deliver on time and budget.

They may even negotiate a discount.

Recommendations can be sought and given here.

Anyone can recommend a professional in this thread unless there is a new rule to the contrary and the mods might advise.

As Onq says, you are allowed seek recommendations, and there are a number of related threads in the forum he links to that cover what you're looking for.

As a reminder, we don't allow seeking such recommendations via PM, and any advertising via PM will result in an immediate ban.

Thank you both for replying..

Simply put and having thought about it I am looking for a shop with an interior designer on staff really that can take the plan of my rooms and make recommendations based on that.

If we were in a position to hire an interior desiger ourselves we would I have considered it but we just dont have the money.

I have looked at the previous posts and there are quite a lot regarding the supply of fittings but I am enquiring about design & supply if anyone has done similar lately or has seen some very good showrooms I would be delighted to hear from them.......

Thanks all,

J

Getting a design is one thing but you need to make the designer aware of any constraints that exist.

For example, where is the window; is moving it an option?

Ditto with door.

Ditto with current wall vent/extractor fan if any.

Ditto if the design requires a new electric shower which will require a feed from the CU.

Where is the sewer pipe outlet? Is moving it either internally or externally an option?

Ditto with existing piping for all the units plus the radiator.

If it a down stair bathroom with a concrete floor and all pipes imbedded....

I don't think you have considered it OR ELSE I'm pretty certain you haven't read my post properly.

I just told you the designer may offer you a discount on goods that you won't get from the shop - let;s consider that for a moment.

If you're going to spend a minimum of €5K on a bathroom ANYWAY and they offered you a 10% discount, that would just about cover their fees, wouldn't it?

Now are you CERTAIN you cannot afford a designer? :)
