Hi,

I'm looking for a side and end panel for a standard bath (w 1700, w 700).

I don't really want the same crappy white plastic that was comes as standard, but a light wooden effect or something....not sure really.

Don't wanna spend a pile on it either, given the time of year it is.

Anyone got any good links or bricks & mortar retailers they can suggest ?

Thanks.
PK.

most bathroom suppliers will stock these or at least should be able to order one from catalogue for you. I know that Barratts in Maynooth do stock them, but I

Yeah I know, but I was wondering if there are specific place where people have got good deals.
Plumbworld.co.uk have some great deals but was wondering about anything comparable in Oirland.

have you thought about tiling the side panel just like the wall / floor tile. Looks much better than plastic or wood and bring the bathroom design together much better.

what ever you do DONT tile the side or end of the bath. Yeah it might look great but try replacing or fixing a set of taps afterwards.ROSS,s at hanlons corner or any chadwicks branch. today woodies had 20% off.

You CAN tile the side of your bath - just cut solid marine plywood to size, tile this and then screw that to the bath frame. You can cover the screw heads with those little plastic screwheads to make it look neater. Our tiler did this for us in our last house which had a small bathroom and it looked fantastic.

+1. It's a particularly good solution for a small bathroom because it looks less "busy", and looks great in pretty much any fully tiled bathroom. Provided it's done as webbs says (and use silicone sealant round the panel edge), there's no problem with access - all you have to do is unscrew the panel and cut through the silicone. It's easy enough to reapply after the panel's fixed back in place.

Just found this thread as am trying to sort out the panel for my bath at the moment. really like the idea of mirrored glass for a bath panel. Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this? I presume from earlier posts that the glass would need to be attached to the plywood but presumably that couldn't then be screwed to the side of the bath? (or could it). Probably v stupid questions but have no clue

It's a nice idea but may be more expensive than you bargain for! You'd need a mirror pretty much the length and height of your bath (standard bath approx 1700mm long by about 520mm high). The larger the mirror, the more expensive. It'll also need to be drilled - and you'll need specialists to do this - so it can be fitted to the side of the bath, probably with chrome or stainless steel bolt covers to blend it in better.

Try asking someone like Myra Glass (no affiliation, just they're known for a lot of custom stuff) what kind of price they'd charge.
