At what point does the opposition barrister have to give you the cases they intend to argue at trial.

Before the day or on the day.
 
They dont.

In High Court, certain documents must be exchanged, but barristers do not have to give you advance notice of the cases they intend to quote/argue/plead. In fact, depending on how the case progresses, new precedents may come into play.
