banks not accepting laser as form of payment

I wanted to buy US dollars in bank of Ireland and offered to pay by laser (pay in euro) but they don't accept it !

They aren't "setup" to accept laser as a form of payment and could only take the money from my account but I don't have an account so couldn't do it.

I nearly fell over laughing...who are they kidding?

They certainly do it at the BOI foreigh exchange on departures level at Dublin Airport. Have used a non-BOI Laser Card to purchase foreign currency there many times.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification. I know that I can't use my BOI laser card in AIB branches to transfer money to my account there either - I think it's pretty standard.
