For years I just ignored what fees I was paying etc but now after throwing my eye over it I see that there's obviously money I'm throwing away. I bank with BOI and have only a couple of DD coming out of my account every month. I typically do an ATM withdrawal for my rent for the month (€500). For everyday expenses (food/petrol) I use both contactless payments (free at the moment but 1c per transaction later this month) and Visa debit card transactions (20c at the moment, reducing to 10c soon). ATM withdrawals will cost me 25c. I know I can avoid paying these fees by keeping 3k+ in the account for the full quarter but that won't be happening.
Let's just say I wanted to continue banking with BOI, is it best the just make a large-ish withdrawal at the beginning of each month to cover most of the above? Obviously the downside to that is having a good bit of cash lying around for the entire month but upside is that you just pay the one fee for that month (10c). I know we're talking small money but I'm just looking to make any savings possible.
