I have significant hearing loss which has been made worse by chemotherapy. If any problem arises with my bank which is bank of Ireland (there have been a few) I am asked to ring in. As I have a joint account and an account on my own and a joint credit card account my husband ringing in for me is not to their satisfaction. They want me to answer a security question on the phone. I feel there should be a system for people like me of whom I'm sure there are many. Changing banks isn't really an option as I am a former employee and have free banking. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you deal with it?

You should submit a letter of authorization. I know a couple who did submit this - and BOI made multiple errors. Complaints submitted via FSPO and substantiated in customer’s favour. Might be a good idea to move to a phone/ non branch type bank that is better equipped- KBC is one of the best in this area
