The premier product has be around since about 2013 - different times when banks were desperate for deposits. I can't imagine you'd get a better rate at the moment, but I'll have a chat with them during the week and let you know if I'm wrong.
I've been a BoI Premier customer for years and asked them about rates in the last couple of months. They weren't offering anything beyond the 0.25% that anyone can get on a 12-month 365 online deposit.
I inquired about a sum a lot bigger than that, and the "special" rate was the same as the non-special rate -- 0.2%. The banks really don't want your money these days.
There was a snippet about Premier Banking in the ST last weekend. I think it said that a Black Visa Card (https://personalbanking.bankofirela...g/personal-current-account/premier-visa-card/ ) and direct access to an "adviser" was pretty much all that had been on offer previously - and that they are now topping it up with a discount booking arrangement with some upmarket hotels.
