Bank Drafts

Hi I lodged a bank draft with my bank on Monday and it still has not cleared on my account. The girl I am speaking to in the bank is very nice but she doesnt know why it hasnt cleared and it definately was not cancelled but she said she hopes it will be cleared tomorrow. Does anyone know why it is taking so long, also my employer paid wages into my account this morning by EFT and it still has not showed up on same. Whats going on??? Its a pain I have nearly €4K tied up that I cant get my hands on Im fuming

From my own experience, bank drafts have to go through the same clearing system as cheques - possibly got to do with fraud etc. Takes a week (5 working days).
