I work for a multinational computer company. As is totally normal in this field, your salary is made up of a basic salary, and then the same again for commission - a 50/50 spilt. Commission is paid monthly upon sales, its not a bonus. Mine is 33k basic + 33 commission = 66k OTE (On Target Earnings). Over the last 3 years I have averaged 70k due to over achievement against my target.

Does anyone know how the banks calculate the amount you can borrow? It's not the standard I think they half your commission, so in my case it might be 33+16.5=49.5k - times the amount of your salary they will lend you.

What is the multiplying factor they are using these days? I know its a lot lower than it was a while back.
Thanks

Every bank has its own method of calculating and its own rules as to how they treat commission. When applying, back up your case with at least two years' P60s to illustrate that you do receive the commission regularly.

Assuming no other loans, no bad credit rating, €250,000 would be a very rough figure as to what you might get in the current climate.
