Bad Paint Job

I have just painted my front door with Dulux gloss and it is slowly going to wrinkles.
As recommended by the retailer, I put on primer, undercoat and top coat. I did have problems with brush marks, but days after it dried, it has sections that are going wrinkly and seems to be getting worse. I gave a light sanding down before each coat and the surface was clean and dry. It would appear that it has not adhered to the undercoat.
Has anyone had similar problem? Any suggestions?

Good luck to you Roker if you can figure it out, I took holiday hours last week to paint the interior of our house and I had ten days to do it. I finished the walls and ceilings by friday. I had saturday and sunday to do the iterior doors as I already had them sanded down and was looking forward to a few pints on sunday night and walk away from it, But dulux gloss had other ideas and made me stand with a dry brush until 11.00 clock that night to catch the drips, I sincerely hope you find an answer to your question , If not I am buying a sander and starting from scratch.

If it was me, I'd strip it all off and use Colortrend exterior paint - they do an acrylic soft sheen that I think looks much better than high gloss and it's much, much easier to handle. It also dries very fast, you can get a second coat on in the same day.

A painter friend recommends taking the door off the hinges and painting it on the flat; depends how handy you are at doing that.

Colortrend have a factory outlet in Celbridge Co Kildare (it's about 30 min drive from town). The staff there are very good for help & advice.

any decent paint shop has colortrend, its as popular as dulux nowadays..

Had call from Dulux who were very helpful. They say i put it on too thick and that it dried on the outside but not underneath causing the rippling or risling, I must wait until it is hard and sand it off and start with a new undercoat. I can thin the finish coat slightly to help the brush marks

Yeah, they are very good on customer service. Sorted out a problem in our house many moons ago when we had bad flaking with bathroom paint.
