Aviva says lowest car Insurance quote available is €280.

This year both my home and motor renewal quotes were lower than the best new quote.

I found the same thing this year with Allianz.

Has something changed regarding loyalty ?

Perhaps, the renewal email said this: "Price Promise: Good News we have automatically added all your available discounts to your premium, so no need to call us anymore for additional discounts. To be transparent, we are offering you our best price up front in MyAllianz"

The renewal had this line
"As a One Big Switch member, a One Big Switch discount has been applied to your policy."

So there seems to be a change of tactics.
I wonder if the best renewal price message is given to all renewals, or might they be targeting the people who were opening a new policy each year.

That seems to be the way Allianz are doing it now. I have a car with them for years as they are always cheapest for me, every year I would get my renewal, phone and get another few euro off.
Last year and the year before they would not budge a cent.
