Average price for gas boiler service

Just wondering if anyone has had a recent routine gas boiler service. How much did it cost ? I’m aware of a pensioner who was charged a much larger amount than I would have expected. I see the RGII don’t get involved in arguments over fees. I feel that leaves customers open to price gouging. My advice - get a quote in advance.

They can't, otherwise they would be guilty of price fixing. Shopping around is highly recommended in advance of purchasing any service.
 
Yes. Lesson learned. Is there any recourse if a person felt they were overcharged. Small claims court ?

I got this RGI registered company who cover south Dublin to service my gas boiler recently for €89, it was only €69 last year. When I booked the next available slot was in 2 weeks.

No idea what they are like for anything else as I have only ever used them for boiler servicing, but they turned up on time, did the job and issued a cert.

Hello, does anyone know of any RGI-registered gas boiler service technicians who can quickly service my boiler without having to wait for weeks? I have contacted several companies, but all of them have a booking time of more than a week.
 
Update: After some Google searches and making additional calls to several companies, and I managed to secure an appointment for tomorrow with Dublin Gas. Here is their website https://dublingasworks.com/boiler-service/ DublinGasWork
Has anyone had any experience with them and could provide a review? They quoted me a price of €89 for the boiler service, and I believe it's a reasonable offer.
 
In terms of the overcharging it sounds like the company breached the new Consumer Rights Act. I suggest contacting the CCPC.
