Hi all, wondering if I'm doing this correctly.

I want to add €11,757 in AVCs to bring my 2024 contribution up to it's max 20% for tax relief.

I deposited €10,000 already and have already received tax relief on this €10,000

I have now deposited the additional €1,757 to my pension. I want to add in the €1,757 to ROS for tax relief but it seems I can only do this my overwriting the €10,000. I think this is ok to do as my Statement of Liability will record the full sum? Has anyone done something similar?

Yes input the whole 11757.
10000 should be shown as paid in 2024 in the relevant area.
Paid direct from wages or paid direct to provider.
1757 should be shown as paid in 2025.
 
Thank you. I think I'm with you, just want to double check.

The 10,000 was paid this year also but towards 2024's pension.

I want to add an additional 1757 towards 2024's pension.

When I go to amend 2024's pension I have to overwrite the 10,000. Are you saying to overwrite it with 1757 or should I go for 11757 and Revenue will know they already gave me relief on 10,000?
 
Overwrite it with 11757. Your tax return will then be recalculated using this new amount.

The overall effect will be that the extra 1757 will then be counted.
