Does anyone have any experience opening non-resident accounts with any Austrian banks? Looking for information about how difficult this is and what documentation you need etc.
Also what is the current opinion of Austrian banks, are there any that are particularly secure/insecure?
I'm not too concerned about interest rates (although I'd be interested if anyone can recomend an Austrian bank that allows non-resident accounts with good interest rates). The main priority is to diversify my savings to try to protect them from some of the many doomsday scenarios possible. I'll be travelling to Austria anyway in the near future, hence my particular interest there.
